The Stamp - Studio Production Reflective - How we Livin’
In our modules covering recording / mixing / mastering, we have been undertaking a production project with local band, The Stamp, with whom we have produced a track for called How we Livin’. This production has been a great success for ourselves in our production team as it has brought around exciting prospects of a full album production with the band after the success of this first production.
Spanning across two studio sessions, first for recording and second for overdubs / mixing, we have covered between us the full scope of the production process in a professional working environment with a band in a professional business oriented context alongside our production of marketing and business related materials for them. With regard to the studio sessions, the professionalism of ourselves working with the band was an aspect we were very proud to have achieved, with the sessions going off without any hitches in a smooth and organised fashion, we were delighted to hear the feedback from the band being very positive alongside the final product of the mixdown. Between us this project has invigorated a confidence in us and has opened up a number of avenues which we are excited to explore going forward as a production team.
With the dynamic workflow strategies which we undertook working very well, and with audio production roles specified in the module guide spanning four people covered by only the two of ourselves in the recording and mixing sessions I feel we have shown a capability and level of skill which is to a high level of professionalism practically and creatively. Not only in this one production but also in our Sociodelic Live Lounge sessions which we have also produced alongside this and in collaboration with other creatives where I lead on organising and directing the recording and filming of three pieces of AV which has begun our series in this format, featured also inside a studio production session environment.
With the production of The Stamps track, we are excited to take what we have learnt and honed forward into more production projects, not only with the band but also with other artists including with our own creative work.
When we do this production project style again, we will keep everything in mind which we have gained from this experience and work it into our production strategies and workflow to further our level of professionalism and production capabilities and quality.
