Production Intro Reflection
During this trimester in the audio industries module I have created a mix of the recording project which I worked on in the recording techniques module parallel to this one. This involved operation of the Tascam mixing console to create the mix, with use of the external audio effects utilized to archive various audio processing effects such as NYK style compression and long-tail effect reverb and delay based similarly on the original track.
I have also created a Radio Play version which incorporated elements of Dialogue / Music / FX of a short story, this required editing and mixing within the DAW and critical listening to achieve a pleasant and captivating listening experience.
During this module I completed the final mix of a multi-media soundtrack project which I have worked on over the last several months, this being around 15 minutes of responsive audio to a clip of the 1927 film Metropolis, this was completed in time to be submitted to the SAE annual awards 2022.
I have also written an essay on the - Discussion of the Concepts of Technological Determinism / Voluntarism in Relation to Bob Dylan and his Electric Circuit. This was an intriguing enquiry into technological determinism and voluntarism which was applied to the controversial situation of Bob Dylan going electric and the wider implications of this with reference to the particular convert featured in Vol 4 of the Bootleg series, where Dylan was recorded in Manchester in 1966 and faced a roar of backlash and perhaps forever changed the music scene of his time.
